Producing scientific and labor-intensive technical products, RPE "EKMA-STO" considers its main task to ensure its proper quality, remembering: "The price is forgotten, but the quality remains" - said the technical director of the company Victoria Vlasenko.
"The mission of EKMA-STO is to provide consumers with quality clothing that will be not only safe but also comfortable to work in, remembering that in clean rooms people are also greeted by their clothes," said Natalia Levitskaya, Production Director.
The history of the company began with the development of technological clothing for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry in 1994. Already in that year, it could be argued that the CIS was the first company to produce cleanroom clothing (process clothing) that met the requirements of international standards. It was "EKMA" that fulfilled its first order for the Russian-Hong Kong joint venture "Corona-Semikondaktor".
The idea to create the company came to Vlasenko Victoria Ivanovna, who at that time worked as the head of the Problematic Research Laboratory of Synthetic Fibres at the Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry (KTILI). The laboratory she worked in has always been distinguished by the fact that it worked closely with the chemical fibre industry. But it is true what they say: "Chance speaks to the prepared!".
In the late 80s, she was invited to take part in the Scientific and Technical Council of one of Kyiv's electronic equipment manufacturing companies. At this Council, they talked with great sadness about the lack of clothing of the right quality for employees of electronic enterprises; about the fact that the lack of such clothing has a very negative impact on the production of high-quality electronic products of domestic production. It turned out that the two main properties of such clothing were abrasion resistance and antistatic properties. At that time, there was no fabric that met these characteristics.
So, the creative team of KTILI set up production of chemical fibers of required quality first in KTILI's experimental workshops, and then at the Rosa Luxemburg Knitting Factory in Kyiv.
After some time, unfortunately, the production of chemical fibres practically died in Ukraine and all former Soviet republics, and the production of essentially unique textile fabrics became impossible.
However, the foundation for the creation and production of technological clothing was laid.
In 1992, the first company, EKMA Ltd, was established. Original models of clothing were created, in which the designers tried to take into account all the ergonomic features of the work of cleanroom staff. Their design was so successful that it has remained virtually unchanged since then. Unfortunately, nowadays only imported fabrics are used for the production of technological clothing.
The company's policy is that providing the customer with everything necessary to work in clean production facilities is the main task for the company!
Every customer is important to us!
Our plans for the future
In 2024, the company plans to expand the number of customers in the food and processing industry.
There are a significant number of sources of biological contamination at food processing plants. First of all, these are the places where the product comes into contact with the staff. It is unacceptable to ignore the issue of cleanliness and safety of production. The first and most effective measure is to use proper sanitary clothing.
In our opinion, barrier sanitary clothing is mandatory for use at all processing and food processing enterprises (meat, dairy, cheese, fish processing enterprises). This is especially true for companies that export food. In addition, it is advisable to use it at poultry farms, livestock farms, etc. In this case, the main advantage of barrier clothing is the protection of working personnel from products of animal origin.
